Tea tree oil, is extracted from Melaleuca Alternifolia tree and is yellowish in colour. For centuries, it has been used widely for curing injuries to skin. Steps to get your nails ready before applying Tea Tree Oil

Prior to applying tea tree oil one needs to ensure the nails are adequately prepared:

Step 1 : With the help of a nail clipper remove the dead nails. You do want to be careful to ensure that you do not go deep injuring your skin in the bargain

Step 2: Next take a coarse nail file and file away the dead nails. Using a medium grade of fine grade filler will definitely help

Step 3 : Next take a soap or bath lotion and along with water attempt to get rid of any dirt and grime that may have accumulated on the nail.

Making sure to follow the steps listed above is very important before you apply tea tree oil to your infected nail.

Steps to apply Tea Tree Oil to your nails

When it is time to apply Tea Tree Oil to your nail:

Step 1: Drop a few drops of the oil directly onto infected nail or you could even take a cotton swab, soak it in the oil and apply it to the nail. You may want to squeeze the swab to ensure that the oil comes out of it and onto the nail.

Step 2: You then want to take a toothbrush and scrub the infected nails gently to make sure that the oil penetrates deep into the nails.

Step 3: Now allow it to dry out naturally. As an alternative, you can also soak your feet in a mixture of warm water and 4-5 drops of tea tree oil.

Step 4: You want to continue this process for about 20 minutes. It’s best to do this treatment once in the morning and once in the evening. It’s imperative to repeat the application of tea tree oil to the infected nail at least 2 twice per day.
